The original Mission Brewery was one of the first commercial breweries in San Diego, and opened in 1913. Like thousands of other breweries across the United States, it closed its doors due to Prohibition.

The brewing company was re-opened by Dan Selis in June of 2007 and is off to a promising start. Four months after opening, Mission Brewery was awarded two national medals at The Great American Beer Festival®. And right before its one year anniversary, Mission won 4 medals at the San Diego County Fair. In its 2 1/2 year history, Mission has won 10 professional medals.

In February of 2008, Mission began distributing its award winning beer in San Diego, and production has been increasing ever since. At this time we are only distributing our beer in kegs, so look for Mission Brewery on draft at a restaurant or bar near you.

Mission Blonde, Kolsch-Style Ale, 5% ABV, 20 IBU
Our Blonde ale is a crisp and refreshing golden ale. Modeled after the kolsch-style ales from Cologne (Köln), Germany, our blonde ale has a clean, lager-like character, and a smooth, balanced bitterness. The authentic kolsch yeast strain provides a subtle fruitiness, which compliments the Liberty and Hallertau hops used for flavor and aroma.

Mission Amber, Dusseldorf-Style Altbier, 5% ABV, 43 IBU
Our Amber ale is a wonderful compromise between the light and refreshing, and dark and full-flavored beers available today. Our Amber is clean, and like our Blonde ale, exhibits a crisp, lager-like character. The firm bitterness is balanced by the sweet, caramel and nutty malt character provided by the generous use of Munich, Vienna, and Pilsner malts.

Mission Hefeweizen, Bavarian Hefeweizen, 5.3% ABV, 15 IBU
Our award winning Hefeweizen is one of the breweries most popular selections. Mission Hefeweizen is a true example of a classic Bavarian Hefeweizen - exhibiting a wonderful bouquet of clove, banana, pear, among other aromas and flavors which make this beer a refreshing and full flavored brew. Make no
mistake – there is no fruit in this beer. The complex and flavorful character of our Hefeweizen is achieved by the authentic Bavarian yeast strain employed in its production.

Mission IPA, American-Style India Pale Ale, 6.8% ABV, 66 IBU
Our India Pale Ale exhibits a complex hop aroma, largely due to the generous usage of Cascade and Centennial hops, as well as a subtle malt character from the various malts used to achieve the wonderful balance exhibited in a world-class IPA. San Diego has become world renown for the wonderful and flavorful beers produced here – and India Pale Ales are no exception. Our national award winning interpretation of the style reflects both the history of IPA and the American variation
of this distinct beverage. We hope you enjoy it!
