Join Kilowatt for the release of our 250 kWh IPA. We brewed two batches of this recipe and cold conditioned one batch on grapefruit. This West Coast IPA is hopped with three different hops from New Zealand, Kohatu, Rakau, and Southern Cross, and dry hopped with a premium blend of Pacific Northwest hops. Taste the beers side by side to compare the piney, fruity, and citrus notes and see how the grapefruit addition complements these hop flavors.
We're throwing ourselves a party!
We are unabashedly stoked on our Gold medal for Whammy Bar Wheat at the World Beer Cup last month so, in honor of this highly crushable ale, we've decided to do a few variations to showcase it's awesomeness.
The 6 variations we'll be serving up:
- The Original
- Citra dry-hopped Whammy Bar Wheat
- Watermelon Whammy Bar Wheat
- Cherry & Lime zest Whammy Bar Wheat
- Orange & Vanilla Whammy Bar Wheat
- MIchelada style Whammy Bar Wheat
Flights of 4 will be $8.
We hope you can join us in celebrating the Whammy!
Join us this Friday June 10th for the release of Ninja Monkey Pirate, a collaboration brew between Helm's Brewing and Monkey Paw.
This hoppy saison is a dry, light bodied French Farmhouse style with earthy, fruity and cirtus hop notes. The earthy yeast notes combine to compliment the hop notes to make a unique beer.
Meet Cosimo and Dan, the brewers from Monkey Paw and Helm's Brewing, this Friday and have a pint with the creators of this new collaboration.
Join us for an outdoor celebration with two years of council beers in the tasting room and several pouring stations in the adjacent parking lot.

Can you hear the glorious fanfare? The trumpeting of horns growing ever closer? The First Quadrennial Brewers’ Games is upon us!
We’ve thrown down the gauntlet on some of our best friends in the beer community. Brewers from far and wide have been invited to show their mettle in challenges both physical and mental. Come prepared to witness feats of incredible strength, dexterity, and foolishness. Help us crown the champions who win the ultimate prize of four years of gloating rights.
The games will be hosted on Saturday, June 11th from 12PM to 6PM, in both our Tasting Room and our parking lot. Mastiff Sausage Company and Inferno Woodfired Kitchen are bringing the food, we’re bringing the beer, the brewers are bringing their fighting spirit, and we need you to bring yourselves.
Tickets to the Brewers’ Games are only $12, and can be purchased on Brown Paper Tickets. Or, skip the service fee and purchase your ticket directly in our Tasting Room. Your ticket gains you entry to the event, a gilded .5L Fourth Anniversary glass, and your first beer. Additional beers, food, and swag are not included. You’ll be able to buy tokens ($5 each) that can then be redeemed day-of only for beers and other goodies.
Tickets go on sale this Tuesday,
April 26th at 12PM, both online and when we open the doors in our
Tasting Room. If’n any spots remain (or if space opens up over the
course of the day), we may offer ticket sales at the door. But I
wouldn’t plan on it, if I were you.
This is a 21+ Event.
A cool stylistic strong, dark, and handsome Belgian is heading to Kilowatt this Saturday with his German lady friend, a Wild Sour Apricot Hefeweizen.
Our Belgian Dark Strong is traditional in style, brewed with Amber Belgian Rock Candy and aromatic malts...while his counterpart is much less conventional, fermented with German Hefeweizen and wild yeasts and then aged on real apricots.
Join us for the release this Saturday. When these two get together, it is sure to be an epic showdown.
Ever wanted to be a part of a brew day? Here is your chance,
Work side-by-side with Tom Nickel creating (and naming) a new beer. Learn the
initial brewing procedure and help with all the steps. Includes: Casual
lunch at the brewery, an invitation to the VMF -- Nickel Beer Company VIP Beer Release Party, and 64 fl. oz. growler of the finished beer.
All
of the money raised goes to support the Volcan Mountain Foundation in
Julian. Details here.

Bring your friends for Quiz Night in our tasting room and you could win some sweet Green Flash prizes.
Tap a cask with us at each of our Brewpub locations every Thursday night. Each week we've got something new and different that our brewers have dreamed up for you to give a try!
Cask-conditioned beer is an ale that undergoes a secondary fermentation by maturing in small casks (approximately 11 gallons), which give it more developed flavors than draught beer. It is also smoother than keg beer because it is dispensed without the use of carbon dioxide (CO2). Draught beer is pushed from a keg using CO2, while cask beer is pulled out of the cask and drawn into the glass using a siphon pump device called a beer engine. This is the traditional serving technique found in pubs in the UK.
We tap a new cask every Thursday at 5 p.m.
Tapping this week:
Mosaic Session IPA with Fantasia Hops
5.5% ABV - 11 SRM - 45 IBU
Our single-hop Session IPA cask-conditioned with the new American-grown Fantasia hops for flavors of cream and caramel.
