DORADO DOUBLE IPA
overall: 4.4
appearance: 4 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.5 | mouth feel: 4 | drinkability: 5
Appearance: Fantastic looks, clear golden amber body with some tangerine hints. Slightly off-white head that did not last long - but there again neither did my sample.
Nose: Beautiful nose, strong citric qualities as well as fresh hops mix well. Grapefruit like at times, the nose is enticing and reveals to the imbiber just how good this beer is without even tasting it.
Taste: Marvelous saliva inducing beginning. Zesty citric elements and fresh hops mix well at the start. I like the fact that the malt in this beer is discernible and perfectly balances the zingy lemons & grapefruit tastes, as well as the bitter hops. Great balance which really adds a high degree to the Drinkability of this IPA. Quite complex at times but never overpowering.
Mouthfeel: Very smooth on the plate. A nice mix of malts and fresh hops lend an above average feel to the mouth. The malts balance the hops and the mouthfeel extremely well in this IPA.
Drinkability: Dangerously drinkable. Fortunately my sample was more like 8oz than the 4oz I was supposed to get, so I had more to work at - but it still did not last long at all. Excellent!
Nicely balanced and Dangerously drinkable.
